This smaller 386 sq ft accessory structure is connected to the main home via a breezeway. Designed for our client’s family member to “age in place,” it features a bedroom and bathroom but no kitchen. The bathroom includes a no-threshold shower and a vanity with a removable cabinet for potential wheelchair access in the future. This project is considered an “accessory structure” vs. an ADU, so it was permitted through Portland’s Field Issuance Remodel Program (FIR) program.
